Celebrities Who Have Gotten a Thread Lift

There is a lot of speculation about celebrities trying a non-invasive thread lift, a procedure that involves absorbable threads that are “passed” through the skin and stretched to provide a precise lift. Not to be confused with a facelift, it will provide minimal improvement, and doctors say you’ll need to go back for maintenance like fillers.

Some estheticians like them, like Delray Beach, FL dermatologist Dr. Janet Allenby says they’re great for patients who aren’t ready for a facelift yet. “I often use threads in combination with other treatments like fillers. They have a very long life to them, which can be disappointing for some people,” she says.

Other facial experts warn patients against having too many thread treatments over time. “I personally don’t pull threads because the suture path that catches the epidermis, or the part just below the surface of the skin, tends to get frayed,” explains Chicago facial plastic surgeon Michael Byon, MD. “I find that it causes the epidermal layer of the skin to age in an irregular manner and can cause ripples,” he notes.

Whatever the pros and cons of temporary strands, celebrities seem to love them. Here, the top listeners who continued to endorse in support of this temporary thread lift have been restored and seem pleased with their results.

Eve Mendes

Eva Mendez made headlines in late 2020 when she shared a photo via her Instagram of the thread-raising process happening in real time. With seven strands implanted on the lower part of her face and jawline, the 46-year-old star wasn’t shy about revealing that she was getting a bit of a pull from her “mono-strands” procedure while completing Dr. Marina Vergara’s spa in Beverly Hills. “A home where you can relax while being tormented by the best ever. This is my happy place!”, she wrote of her experience.

Huda Kattan

In 2019, beauty influencer and founder of the brand, Huda Kattan, shared on her blog that she had pulled the thread down the face. “The great thing about thread tightening is that it’s extremely fast, not very painful, and the results last for years,” she wrote. Big selling point? They are able to narrow down in the areas that bother them the most. “You can literally lift the thread anywhere, and I think my favorite way to use it is to tighten the skin in the jawline. Using threads along the jaw line is ideal if the skin here starts to sag, as it lifts and tightens the skin,” said the 38-year-old. Oh really”.

Sarah Ferguson

Not yet ready for a full facelift, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, said after trying neurotoxins, fillers and mesotherapy, her doctor recommended a thread lift to stimulate collagen. The 62-year-old Duchess told The daily Mail. “She inserts threads under the skin with a fine needle and it holds everything. It also encourages collagen production. It takes two months, then sweet peas bloom! Before I do that, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s going to hurt’ but it wasn’t bad. My skin responded. “I think if you look at my pictures after I’ve done that, I’ll look a lot better,” she said of the treatment.

Kelly Dodd

with her The Real Housewives of Orange County Standers Brownwyn Windham-Burke and Shannon Bedor, former housewife Kelly Dodd once admitted to succumbing to leads on Watch What Happens Live when Andy Cohen asked her if she’d ever tried it. “I’m done with the leads,” the 46-year-old reality star revealed. She shared on the show that she has three strands added to one side of her face and two on the other. “I could have had more I guess, but I didn’t want to hold back so much,” she explained.

Simon Cowell

In early 2018, Simon Cowell admitted to Sunday on Sunday Newspaper that he’s done a little work lately. The 62-year-old reality show judge remarked that it was “painful as hell” and explained that he underwent a non-surgical facelift with a bioplastic thread. “There are so many things you can do right now. Not only do you have to fill your face with fillers and Botox. It hurts like hell, but it removes sun damage and separates all the nonsense.”

Possibly: Gwyneth Paltrow

Known for her “clean” approach to everything from food and fitness to sexual health, it’s no wonder Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow endorsed threads in 2015, when absorbable threads were making a comeback from their more complex predecessors going back to the ’80s. Newer threads are now slightly more complex than their previous incarnations and Paltrow was an early adopter of the second version. While the star has admitted to Xeomin neurotoxin injections, chemical peels, Thermage skin tightening and laser therapy, her Goop thumbs on thread lifts have plenty of speculators thinking she’s tried the treatment, which makes sense for the 49-year-old holistic star, because she stimulates The body’s response to collagen.
